Lift Up Houston is looking for Get Out the Vote [GOTV] Interns to help us engage with and educate Houston voters about the important upcoming election on November 7th.
Our goal is to help Houston voters have the information they need to vote in favor of Propositions A-E. Passing these propositions will provide secure retirements to first responders and city workers, and much needed-funds that will allow the city to rebuild our parks, libraries, community centers and roads after Hurricane Harvey, all at no cost to taxpayers. These measures have broad bipartisan support across party lines, both in Houston and statewide.
We focus on involving our interns in the nuts and bolts of creating and growing a grassroots outreach program, with an emphasis on mentorship and direct engagement with voters. Our campaign relies on state of the art campaign technologies and tactics every day, providing interns with the chance to gain insight on and experience with techniques that most other campaigns and community outreach organizations aren’t using yet.
Our program will give you the opportunity to work in a crucial, non-partisan election with a professional campaign staff that has years of experience running grassroots organizing programs and mentoring interns, many of whom go on to become full campaign staff in future campaigns.
Hours are flexible, and we are more than happy to sign for service hours and write letters of recommendation.
