This fall, the economics department will offer its popular online math and stat camp courses to the general public. This is the fourth time that the online math camp will be offered, and the third time that the online stat camp will be offered. The math camp will begin on October 9th, 2017 and the stat camp will begin on October 16th, 2017.
These math and stat camps are designed to provide individuals preparing to apply to PhD programs (both at Rice and others) with an opportunity to bolster their applications and demonstrate their commitment and ability to participate in rigorous PhD-level coursework and research.
The math camp will last for eight weeks and provides an extensive overview of real analysis, linear algebra, calculus, and difference and differential equations. The stat camp will last for seven weeks and covers probability theory, random variables, and large sample theory.
