Dagobert Brito is a Professor Emeritus and Rice Faculty Scholar in International Economics at the Baker Institute. Before joining the economics faculty at the Rice University, Professor Brito taught at Tulane, Ohio State University and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His areas of expertise are public economics, economy theory, energy economics, and the economics of arms control and political science. His research interests include optimal tax theory, the economics of defense, energy economics, and technical change and the distribution of income. He has published numerous articles in the leading journals in the profession, including the American Economic Review, Econometrica, the Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Economic Theory and International Economic Review. He has published in political science journals such as the American Political Science Review and Journal of Conflict Resolution.
